Aside- short set of dialogue to shove in a small thought that is NOT supposed to be heard by any active characters

-Dynamic Character: a character who undergoes significant changes through the story
-Symbolic Character: a character who stands for an idea or emotion and is used to represent it (can be used ironically!!)
-Foil: a character whose traits highlight the traits of another character through juxtaposition (ie, Draco and Harry, Ron and Hermione, Nick and Gatsby)
-Monologue: a speech given by a character, which is lengthy and uninterrupted
-Aside: line spoken directly to the audience, that no one else on stage is supposed to hear (Hamlet has lots of them)
-Soliloquy: similar to a monologue, but is supposedly an inner dialogue, meant to be heard by none of the other characters. So the love child of an aside and a monologue.

-Symbolic Character: Characters representative of some concept or idea that they are a symbol for. Say, for example, a character named Grace who represents beauty.
-Foil: A character that contrasts another, in order to emphasize certain qualities of one another.
-Monologue: a lengthy, uninterrupted speech given by a character to create mood or emotion.
-Aside: Dialogue directed at the audience from a character, intended only for audience and not heard by other actors
-Soliloquy: An inner conversation of a character: lines spoken by character representative of introspection, and not intended for other actors to hear.
