ReplyDelete1. The stage directions should be italicized.
2. The difference is that a narrator explains how whats going on in the plot, where as stage directions make the action clear by what the characters do
3. Stage directions are meant to tell the emotion the character is feeling, and how they act, and they are also used to tell where and how a character moves on stage. Also, stage directions can consist of lighting and music, and to set how the scenes begin. They give a little of the background information before the play actually begins.

ReplyDelete1. Stage directions should be italicized, and put into parenthesis if they are within a line of dialogue. Characters' names are in all caps, and there is a colon between the name and dialogue. There is an extra space between each chunk of dialogue and/or stage directions. Scene numbers are bolded and left indented. Title is center, bold, in quotes.
2. A Narrator is an actual character with dialogue who explains setting, conflict, character emotions. Stage directions leave these distinctions up to the tech crew and the actors. Even if a play does have a narrator, there should also be stage directions.
3. Stage directions describe the set/props/costumes/lights/sounds; tell the actors how to move, act and speak; explain where each character is in the scene.
